Default Alarm goes off after opening doors and car does not start

I have 94 Accord and live in Rochester, NY. Since yesterday, whenever I open any of the doors, an alarm goes off with flashing parking lights. It continues periodically. When I try to start the car, nothing happens. No cranking sound of any kind. All dashboard lights and indicators keep flashing. Gear handle does not move from parking.
The antitheft alarm (marketafter) is turned off since last couple of year. (Don't have the remote.)

Any ideas, what could be wrong?

you need to locate the central "brain" for your aftermarket car alarm and probably remove it if you're not using it...

I expect that your battery and possibly alternator are dead also.

Rationalle- Dash lights flashing from lack of power. Alarm confused by lack of power. Shiftlock solenoid failing to unlock the tranny shifter due to lack of power. Stored power reduced by cold weather.

The alarm alone shouldn't interact with the shiftlock solenoid.

As mentioned, if the alarm can't be used, it should be removed to reduce the potential for problems caused by it.
