Default All of my windows died on me!!

I was out test driving my kids car when all of the windows quit operating. Since I got her this car the driver's side front window never functioned but I can hear clicking from the switch area. Back to all of the windows, when I got home I checked out the FSM, it says to check the 4 fuses under the hood, they were all good. Then the FSM says to check the #3 fuse under the dash, it's good too! Next I checked the relay under the hood but I couldn't make heads nor tails out of the test in the FSM so I switched the relay with the cooling fan relay next to it (it's the same part number) still no windows!!! The last thing the FSM mentioned was the ground, which makes sense but, the only reference to the ground is a diagram on pg 25-30 and it doesn't say where in the hell the ground is located so my question is;

Where is the ground for the power windows located???

Ground 8 or ground 11.....also, hold the relay so the "hump" is up, put power and ground to the "two pins" at the top, there should be continuity on the "two" bottom pins....but it really sounds like the switch is gone....all fuses good and you already switched the relays.

poorman, thanks for the clarification on the relay!! As I suspected, the relay is good. I was leaning toward the switch too but, none of the remote switches (i.e. the ones on each door) work either. If the main/drivers switch goes out does that disable the remote switches??

Ok, I'm trying to pull the drivers side door panel to test the switch in the door. I got all of the screws out, the speaker cover off and the interior door hadle trim off. There doesn't seem to be anything holding the panel on except maybe the window being all the way up. Does the window have to be down to pull the panel? If so, how do I lower the window if the motor/switch isn't lowering it?

The online manuals thread in the DIY section has a links for downloading a 4th generation shop manual in pdf form. That should give you the steps to take to remove the door panel.

I've always found it easier to remove the panel when the window is down. There are three...four clips along the top, once you have it off you'll know what I'm talking about. A good pry on both ends of the panel...under the panel, using the "top" of the door metal should get them started. Also removing the mirror trim (black triangle thing at the front of the door, pry out plastic trim, two/three screws)...will help getting to the front clips....hope this make sense....been a few months since I've been there, window reg and motor on the 89 LX.

Default I got it!!

First off, sorry for the impatient question about the panel removal. I thought that I had applied enough pressure to get the panel off but, I had to go back with a bigger hammer! Wiggling and persuasion from a screw driver in the corner and where the handle trim went finally did the trick. As far as the switch, poorman was right on time. It ended up being a bad drvier side window switch, as soon as I tried another one the other 3 windows work now. Now to look for a procedure to test/remove the drivers window motor!!

Isn't a '88 Accord a gen 3?

Thanks for the help guys!!!

Oops, it is a 3rd gen. You can get an 86-89 manual from those links that will help with this stuff in the future.
