Default Alternator/Battery Question.

Hi All,

I have a 2006 Accord, EX, V6, auto transmission. This weekend the alternator went in which drained my battery also. The battery was installed in January 2014 and has a 36 month rating. I had the battery recharged and tested from my local auto parts store and it passed. The parts store also tested my alternator and it failed.

My question is, when I replace my alternator, would it be safe to use the same battery or should I purchase a new one and install with the new alternator?
Also, would it be ok to install a refurbished Denso alternator or a brand new one? As you may know, the price is significantly higher on a brand new one as opposed to one that was refurbished. I rather be safe than sorry. Please advise.

Thank you all!

Battery may have life shortened by deep discharge, but if it checks OK it's good to use.

Rebuilt or new is a personal decision and also influenced by reputation of rebuilder.

good luck

ok. I'll re-use the battery. I'm going with a Denso rebuilt alternator.

Thank you!
