Did you borrow a volt meter?

First thing to check is the voltage at the battery with the car on and all electrical loads off (lights, blower motor, ac, ect) - should read ~14.5V.

 

well, i had the battery and alternator checked at the same time,theyre both good and i had a diagnostic test done.He said its electrical.the alternator is not keeping charge to the battery. So i replaced the wire and connector that attaches to the top of the alternator(one that bolts on) and the battery light is now off.the car acts like it wants to idle but doesnt last long. on the up side yesterday it ran very well for a drive around the block,lol. i did move the distributor cap so that may be one problem. any ideas on why its not idling??
