hi all, i have small bulb, very small one which keeps flashing red every 2-3 seconds.. Its near my fuel gauge on the dash and it flashes when driving and also when i switch off and lock the car.... it will just flash, pause 2-3sec then flash and keep on going..

what could it be?? the bulb sticks out a little bit, i mean its NOT something like the (low fuel light) or (handbrake) or (battery) light which illuminate from the inside..

any idea?? its disturbing sometimes at night ....

some1 told me its an ECU error but i doubt it... ecu error wont show when the engine is off...

 

Probably some sort of alarm or remote start or immobilizer.

will post picture tonight... i thought so, but then i havent got any aftermarket alarm / immobilizer (as far as i know).. I open the door with keys still as there is no fob

 

yeah but a previous owner could have put it in to give the illusion there is an alarm.

 

Does the light blink all the time? Even when driving? There is a probably an alarm in there somewhere. An fake alarm LED would blink constantly, having it only blink at certain times would be too much of a hassle.

 

yeah all the time... even when i drive or swtch the car off...

 

i did an ECU reset and hey presto, it doesnt light now... still curious what it could be...

 

Ah, it is a Euro model though, which could mean you have something we don't
