Default Anybody know what this is for ??

I bought my 1993 Accord LX about 6 weeks ago...I am still impressed by this little car with 226K on it. So here is my question:
On the far lower left corner of the instrument panel there is what looks like some sort of small switch. It is recessed below the suface of the plastic lens covering the instruments. It is currently set in the "DOWN" position. Anyone here with this generation LX have any idea what this is for ?? My digital camera is not focusing correctly, so no pic is available.

Thanks and regards to all...

I believe you are talking about the maintenance required reset. At the bottom of the tachometer there is a maintenance indicator. It changes from green to yellow to red purely based on miles.

When it gets to yellow or red you can reset it to green by sticking your key in the switch you are talking about.
