like the topic says, i have to remove my dash bezel on my 97 SE to get to remove my gauge cluster but cant get past the part by the climate control area. how the hell does this come off?!

 

you have to take all the vents out AND all the little buttons and POOP. like the one for moonroof cruise the brightness of the dash the hazard etc

 

well i took out the buttons, but the vents wont budge. seems like they are all one part.

 

i know the vents are a pain and the middle ones dont pry on the inside just pry on the outside or youll pull out this little clip that keeps them from flopping around. but the screws are hiding. it would be a good idea to have the manual with you cause it shows you exactly where all the screws are. you dont want to break that piece of plastic

 

i got in there with a flashlight an everything, i couldnt see any screws. what gives?

 

yea im at work right now and my manuals are at home, i can get back to you later with a more definitive answer to where exactly the screws are....i havent taken my dash off in quite a while, but i do remember all the switches and vents had to come out

ok so there are six screws holding the instrument panel. send me your e mail and i will send you some pics from my manual. you do not need to take out the vents

 

there are two underneath where the radio is ( it has to come out) two behind some switches and two pointing up in the instrument cluster area.
