I just caught that... shop rates are getting steep these days but so is the overhead, with new technology comes newer more expensive tools... $120 isn't horrible but considering you can buy the part online for about $60ish dollars including s/h and DIY.... Is it worth $60.00 to have someone besides yourself do it?
Seriously!!!! I spent 3 hours trying to pull my ECU & TCU codes on Saturday because Strauss wants $85 to do it ..... I checked 2 locations ..... the NAPA in town went out of business & 002 doesn't actually do service. A friend pulled them for me for free, but he charges $90 also ...... they all say that it's due to the cost of the scan tool ..... like they don't make enough on actual work to pay for the tool? What a croc!!!

I usually expect around $75 at a dealership and $60 from a corner shop...

To put things in perspective because of all the junk we need our Marine shop charges $100/hr for boat repair. Full on toughbook laptop diagnostics now. We've got at least $3000.00 into the laptop alone not to mention the cables and software, and that's just one piece.... Then again all of our mechanics are EXTREMELY qualified with numerous certifications and we have a 25,000 sq ft repair facility.... No flat rate either, the faster they work the cheaper your bill is and the more they can get done so the more they make...

the bmw dealership in lafayette was around 100 i think. i never paid it, bu that's what it was posted at. that's cheap for bmw.

i think the shop i used in lafayette was around 70, maybe 60. but it was a small town. i would expect 80-90 in a larger town.

wait, in mississippi, couldnt you just pay with a confederate flag though?

HAHA, I wish...:P Anyways, I called the Shop back up and they have finishing installing the clutch and now is putting the transmission back in. I asked him what would my total be and he said $687...That included 1 Honda Rear Main Seal, 3 quarts of Honda Tranny Fuild, install of Clutch, 1 New Honda Slave Cylinder, and resurface Flywheel (I think? Not too sure).....

$675 isn't too bad for all that work I don't think. I hope they resurfaced your flywheel. I'm sure they would have mentioned it if they didn't though, or asked you if you wanted it done.

For body and mechanical repairs I see anywhere from $38 to $75 or so on labor. I just looked at a few estimates on my desk. Usually I don't pay that much attention to them.

Well, Today is not a good day... I was at Wendy's Drive Thru and picked up lunch for my boss. I was about to head out. Then, I press the clutch all the way down and try to shift to first gear. It was impossible....The shifter was so hard to move...Then, I repress the clutch petal half-way and I was able to shift freely (I have to be careful and not grind the gears). Then, I had another problem....It was slipping...in all gears...So, I tooked it back and told them what happen...
