took it home and changed the fluid was not red anywhere.the drain plug did not have any big pieces on it.about 175,000
miles.

 

Is the D4 Light or S light flashing? Even if not, check the Trans Control Unit for codes. See DiY section for instructions. Some codes don't cause the D4 or S to flash but are stored and can provide guidance on the problem.
