Default Auto to Manual transmission swap?

I have a 2001 Accord with an f23 motor 4 cyclinder 2.3 liter and I'm trying to figure out what parts I need and an estimate on how much it would cost. I do not want to sell it and buy a new one, I want to swap it out so any info about the swap would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

If it is a 2.3L accord, you can find a engine and manual trans combo for it (or it could be the 2.4L I could be mistaken that has a manual). It’ll be like knocking out 2 birds with one stone. I’ve looked into that before and I think you can find a used one with under 100k miles for around $2-3K online.

My suggestion would be to find another 6th gen Accord to get all of the parts from. I say that as you'll need the shifter and cables too, along with a clutch pedal, master cylinder and lines for the clutch, and the ECU is different as well. It can be done, but it won't be a weekend swap kind of deal. Look on Craig's list for a donor car, as they are out there. I have a 99 Accord LX 2.3L with a 5 speed, and really like it. I hope this helps.

I think the idea of converting an auto to manual is a silly idea. Just buy a manual car. But... things that are logical to me, aren't always logical to others.

I have been active on this board for a long time and posted a similar sentiment any number of times. People still think it is a good idea.
