Default auto speedo cluster for manual?

I have a manual 94 Accord 4dr with a broken speedometer. The tach still works fine and no CEL. I must assume this is the speedometer, so my question is can I put an automatic cluster in to replace the malfunctioning maual cluster?

Yes you can, it'll work just the same.

Broken speedometers seem to be a very common issue on the 94-97s. I had it happen to me and there is someone asking about it every week or two on here.

Does the cruise control still work when the speedometer isn't working? If the CC works, then your speedometer is likely the problem.

Mine would get stuck at 19mph and the tripometer wouldn't work either. This is somewhat common on the 94-97 accords. Is this similar to your problem?

The AT cluster should work for your accord. There will be extra lights on the AT cluster for Gear Position that may get annoying. The speedometer between the two are identical, so you can take apart the cluster and just swap speedometers.

I wanted to keep my mileage the same, so I ended up sending my speedometer off to get repaired at a site I found online. The problem hasn't returned since.

Default thanks

I have a DX sans CC, so I think my symptoms are outside of the VCC. I appreciate the input and am going to give a try at the Auto cluster. I'll post the results as soon as I get a chance to do it in the next few days. Thanks for the quick responses.

Checking the cruise-control is an easy way to determine if the problem is the vehicle-speed-sensor. It's not that the CC itself is the cause of the problem.
