Default Automatic Transmission Oil Change on gen 6

Hey everyone, this forum has been a tremendous help to me, I recently got rid of my CEL by following the guide to do a EGR port cleanup and valve replacement. Kudos on the write up.
Now I'm about to do a ATF change. I had the tranny swapped out at 83k and now my car is at 171k with no fluid change ever been done to it.
The car's not behaving particularly weird but do you think it's a good idea to do one? I'm afraid that I might mess up the tranny while doing it but from what i've read on other postings it seems pretty straight forward.

1. Find and undo 3/8" socket hole on the bolt near passenger side tire.
2. Let it drain and put the bolt back on.
3. Refill however much that came out with new oil via tranny oil dipstick hole.
4. Drive around a bit.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for 4 more times.

Do I have everything down?
How much of ATF-Z1 oil would I need to do the whole tranny? I thought I read somewhere it's around 2.5 qrt per drain. so about 10 qrts to do the whole thing?

Location of the drain plug might be different for V-6, so look around. It's the only thing with a square hole.

Maybe closer to 3quarts per drain/fill, and fill according to the dipstick. If it's nice & clean coming out, then don't bother doing again. Maybe just do it every 25k or 30k miles to keep it clean.

OK here's a 2000 V-6 trans. Drain plug is #8 so get down below the drivers-side headlight & look from there.
There's a fill plug #7 so maybe that means the dipstick is a PITA to use??

hey guys, so I still haven't done my transmission oil change. but i was reading through some other threads, and it seems like deserthonda said that the replaced transmissions have external transmission oil filter? is that true? because I replaced mine at about 86k at a dealer under warranty. How can i go about replacing the filter also? or is that even a necessary step?

I think the external filters are located in the hoses from trans to radiator. It should be visible.
