Hello Everyone,
I am reaching out for info on the back seat locking mechanism of the 2013 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 6 Speed Manual. Up until 3 weeks ago, when pulling the handle in the trunk to release the back seat, the seat would "pop-out" just a bit then you could walk around a fold the seat down. Currently the seat no longer "pops-out". It takes two people now to lay the back seat down. One to hold the handle pulled out and one to lay the seat down. The local dealer told my wife that it has always required two people to release the back seat and lay it down. Has anyone encountered this issue. My wife even showed the SM a video on YouTube of a Dealership demonstrating how to release the back seat. One person. Any advice?

Lubricate the release mechanism.

Keep a stick in the trunk and push the back of the seat when you pull the release...one person friendly.

 

My seat doesn't "pop" out any like you describe but I still can fold it down myself. The mechanism unlocks the back of the seat and I just walk around and pull on it and it's released for folding. I don't ever remember it "popping" when it released (2009 V6.)
