Default Bad Transmision??

Hi there... On monday when i was driving home from work.. reversing the car in the drive way... I hear a clicking sound under the engine....... Then I hit on the brake and release it n let the car roll down i hear it again...
Then i put back to D and go forward then hit R and go back.. Once I m in R... let the brake go.. I could hear a strange sound again...

Could this be a bad transmision??

If it is can it be fix???

Will changing trans fluid and filter make it better?????

One possibility is your brakes... my civic either squeeled or made a clicking noise in reverse because of them.... check your pads/rotors, if that's not it then try turning hard circles to the left and right while moving forward and see if you can get the noise to happen again.

Unlike older vehicles with drum brakes which required you to crawl under and adjust the shoes closer to the drum as they wore down (e.g. my 70s VWs), your car has self adjusting brakes. They adjust themselves closer to the drum when you back up. Most modern vehicles have this, and yes they can make a clicking noise when you back up.

His Accord is an EX, so it has disk brakes in the rear. The self-adjusting mechanism is inside the caliper, and I haven't heard of it making much noise.

However, depending on how the brake pads fit into the caliper brackets, they can make clicking noises as the rotor carries the pada fraction of a mm up & down as you reverse direction.

Jack your car up and turn your wheels by hand and see if it is the brakes that are causing the clicks.
