Default Basic Headlight Question

Hey, i have these blue headlights that are naturally tinted blue with no film coverings. As you can see, they are in need of some serious cleaning. I was wondering how i should clean them. Would the standard use of sandpaper and buffer etc. etc. work? Or is there a special method i need to clean them and remove the hazing with? thanks so much!

I've seen the detailer guys buff off the oxidation haze using McGuires polish compound and a small 4" buffer wheel.
However there are professional polishing kits that include some type of clear sealer to prevent the plastic from oxidizing again.
