Maybe you've already done this but check the fuse! (wouldn't that be nice)

 

I havent do anytl tests but am goingto go ahead and just get another ac compressor. I will check back and get help with my drivers side radiator fan that isn't spinning as well. Thanks guys

 

Why would you do that? the compressor is one of the only components proven to be working!!!

 

I'm going to get another compressor because the only way to get it to work properly is to put a jumper on it from the battery. For now I just unhook the wire from the battery when my car sits overnight. Then when I get ready to drive just hook it back up. Its crazy but gives me cold ac. I live in Baltimore. Sum hot days round this time.

 

The fact that your compressor works when you jumper it indicated that it is working and that the issue lies in the wiring.

 

R u sure. My mechanic said I need a new one. Also sum people in this thread said it wouldn't engage and that is y the guy put a jumper on it. So what do u suggest I do to figure out y it won't work without the jumper. Thx for the help

 

You need to find out why the compressor isn't receiving 12v when the AC is on. I would check the fuse and make sure that the relay is clicking when you hit the AC button. If those don't shed some light then you will need a wiring diagram or a diagnostic flow chart to help you track down the problem.

 

If your a/c is blowing cold right now, then the compressor is not your problem. Replacing your compressor will be a waste of money.

It is likely that you have a fuse, a relay, or a wiring problem that will be much less expensive for you to fix.

Check for voltage on the red wire that goes to your a/c compressor when you don't have the jumper wire connected when the a/c should be running. Let us know if you have battery voltage (~12V).

 

I check all my fuses that i thought were necessary And they all were good what fuse would I check tho. N I'll get a multimeter tomorrow and check the voltage
