Default Brake light switch?

I have a 98 accord coupe. both of the brake lights went out at the same time. I checked the fuse and it's fine. I blocked the brake pedal and checked power at the brake light bulb wiring in the trunk and no power (bulbs are good).
I pulled the brake light switch under the dash and am trying to check continuity. I don't have a wiring diagram.
I notice the switch doesn't have a physical actuator button or pin? Not sure if it is supposed to have one?
Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure the switch has a button sticking out towards the arm of the pedal. When the pedal is UP, there's a rubber **** on the pedal arm that presses the switch-button.

ps. this is really a General Tech. question, so I'll move it.
