I have a 2000 Accord LX 2.3 with the rear window light.
All bulbs are good
Brake light switch has been replaced.
I swapped the brake light failure sensor with one from the junk yard, but do not know if either are actually failing. Currently the original is in place.
Testing all wires on the plug going into the BLFS with the light switch on, I get a maximum of .05v
If I jump the 12v from the trailer plug to the BLFS plug, the window light comes on and the rest of the brake lights flicker, but depressing the brake does nothing.
None of the brake lights come on with BLFS either plugged or unplugged.
I’ve read a few forums regarding testing, but I’m not an electrician and really don’t know where to start.
I would like to completely bypass the BLFS if possible, or at least test it to confirm functionality before moving on to testing all the other connections.
Q1 - Is there any reason I shouldn’t be able to bypass the BLFS?
Q2 - How can I test both the BLFS and all connections going back to the brake to confirm where the problem originates?
Wiring diagram was taken from another forum, but I believe it to be the correct one.
