Default brakes feel

My wife's accord is a 95 and i dont drive it that often and i am wondering if i should be able to push the pedal to the floor with significant pressure. even though the car stops on a dime and the pedal does not need to go to the floor to stop the car but if i push hard enough it will go to the floor

thanks in advance

That's not normal; if you're pressing with an extraordinary amount of force the pedal would bend permanantly.

Have someone press the pedal while you look behind each wheel. Steer or move or lift or something, so you can watch the rubber brake hose. Watch to see whether the hose dilates much when pressing the pedal.

If nothing like that, then I'd say you have some air in the system. Bleed the brakes.
