Default Brakes question

My Accord has 60k miles on it (bought it used) and I don't think brakes have ever been changed before.

This is hard to describe but I'll do my best.

When I am slowing down ~5mph and am coming to park... when I press the brake then release it I hear some sort of noise... not a grind ... but maybe something a short grip pressure? release from the brakes. I only hear this at low speeds like this.

Are the brakes going bad?

At 60K, even with normal driving your brakes could possibly/likely be used up.

Also guessing you're not mechanically up to inspecting/replacing. So take it to a tire store, dealer, or
Sears Auto for a brake inspection - should be free or $25 at most, applied towards any repairs.
This is a normal type maintenance duty.
