Default Buying A 1999 Honda Accord Sedan Lx

I have a seller who is a friend of mine, and is looking to get rid of his car^. He wants to sell it for $500 because of some technical issues. The car has about 130,000 miles on it and is an automatic. He used the car for commuting back and forth to work, but has left it sitting outside unused for a year and a half. The car has a broken shifter **** (the top part came off), it needs routine maintenance, the airbag was stolen then replaced but the light stays on, and the check engine light stays on because of a trouble fuel cap. The seller says that the fuel cap situation doesn't cause any problems, it's just an aesthetic annoyance. So my question is how much would all of the issues cost? And, is this a good deal?

Well a new shift **** is $20-100 depending on what you want. Can't really tell you about the airbag thing. And a new fuel cap is $50 maybe.

but $500 for a 99? can't really go wrong with that.

$500 is a big warning light in my opinion. thats very cheap for a car like that. simple. do a vin check. does it have an R title? another thing. that generation had big transmission problems. so for that cheap it might be the case. rice caught the costs for the other stuff so if its actually fine go for it. needs a tuneup? thatll be like maybe $100. that price would be a steal. but research a little more before dropping 500.
