Buying a 98 and need advice/help
I'm headed to look at a nice and clean 98 EX 4cyl 5-speed with 140K. Owner listed the following in his add: new brakes, timing belt and water pump all the belts and gaskets were changed at 110k miles, no check engine light or any other lights.
When I go to look at this car tomorrow, what are some things I need to look at or pay attention to for this model ?
Thanks guys

Just make sure there are no leaks and very important, look under the car the best u can and look inside each wheel well. Just basically check for any hidden rust or other possible hidden problems the seller may be hiding. Just to look out for you

At parking lot speeds turn right then left. A clicking noise means the axle CV joints are bad.
~ $225 per side to have axle replaced if go to a shop. (OK to drive, till fixed)
clutch is an obvious one.
mechanic check is good, as said above, but if it's a long time (original?) owner that's worth a lot.

Thanks guys for the advice. Drove 2 hours to look at the car yesterday and basically seller was a liar. Dings all over the car, none of the gauges worked including odometer, leaking oil in drive way after a 10 min drive. I talked to this guy 5 times before I made the drive, he gave inside and outside rating or 9.5 out of 10, said he'd take 4500 for it but when I got there, photos were not true AT ALL. Offered me 3800 when I left but I couldnt trust anything he said so I passed.
