Default a/c compressor/ belt

on my 95 accord my belt running the a/c alt. and pully snap.i replaced it and test drove the accord.without the a/c it was okay but i was wondering why wasmy belt was getting to hot,i turned on the a/c and for a while there was smoke coming out from the belt side.it did not smell like rubber nor oil then i heard like a cracklyn sound coming from the same side, the accord still starts but the belt gets to hot,i was wondering could it be the a/c compressor or the engine pully being stuck and putting a strain on the belt thus causing the belt to get hot?can i repair the compressor?if so does anyone know a website about a/c?

well after spending $75.00 for a used a/c compressor,i decided to change my timing belt.when doing so while taking out the main pully i had found out that my main engine pully was SHOT! it was in 2 pieces, that was the cause of my belt getting hot due to friction on the main pully, after replacing my main pully the problem was gone no more hot belt..
