Default a/c help

Well, my girlfriend has a 2000 honda accord. It's the 4-cyl version. The problem is that the blower only works when the **** is set on the "4" (the highest setting). It ONLY works on 4 whether it's a/c or heat. What could be the problem?

sounds like the switch is bad... My friend had a Nissan that did that exact same thing... I'd pull it out and get a voltmeter and test it but I'd almost bet that if the wires are connected it's a bad switch.

This is a honda though, it's more likely to be the power resister. They can be checked with an ohm meter. It's easier to check the blower switch from there too, instead of pulling it out of the dash.

if it is the normal system, replace the blower resistor. If it is an auto climate control unit, ask DH what to do.

The climate control system doesn't have a "4" setting.

some people have already hit it on the head.. most likely it is the blower resistor..
