Default A/C lines 95 accord

My A/C hasnt been working and when I ran a leak test, the high and low pressure lines were covered in dye. I want to change them myself, but I havent been able to find any special instructions (assuming any exist) on how to do it. Is it simply removing them and replacing them?

I have a 95 accord with the 2.2 VTEC

Can you tell use what you added to your lines and also how you added the dye?

How did you verify that your A/C was low on R-134a?

I personally did not add the dye. I took the car into a shop and he added more freon and a dye because it was low. I assumed it was low now because last year the A/C stopped working but it was late in the summer so I didnt worry about it till now. The system does not cool down at all right now.

Are the lines near the high and low pressure points the only places where you see dye?

If I'm following PA and your answer......sounds like the o-rings at the "connections" are leaking. If so, instead of replacing the lines, try new o-rings. Please follow the proper procedure for replacing and re-charge.

There are generally only two places a hose will leak; 1) around the hose termination crimp (look for leak at end of crimp) and 2) around the end fitting connection to compressor or other end termination.

It is also possible for the hi or lo pressure gauge connection fitting to leak. The schrader valve can be replaced if either of these is suspect.

good luck
