Default a/c question for 95 accord ex 2.2 v-tec

My 1995 Honda Accord EX 2.2 v-tec...does not blow cold air, but compressor works;. I put in full 20 0z can of A/C pro 134 refridgerant. If system was completely empty, do I need another can to fill;..so the pressure fills completely? Lower a/c fill line was cold, but return line was NOT getting hot while system was running as I filled with a/c pro stuff. I put in 17 oz of refrig.
any sugg.? thanks

To properly diagnose the a/c system, you need to attach a manifold gauge and read the high and low pressures. We can provide you with more information if you choose to go down this route. Charging the a/c system without this information is dangerous, because you can overcharge the system.

If you system was completely empty, then you have a major leak that you need to diagnose before charging the system, because the new R134a would leak out again.

If you repair the system properly, it should last for years without having to add any R134a. That is the only way to fix the a/c system in my opinion.

As suggested, a reading from both the high and low side is really needed.

Also, this gen does have a bit of an issue with the blend door and heater control valve cables getting out of adjustment - trust me I have a 95 and have to adjust mine fairly often. When this happens the blend door isn't closing off - not all of the "air" is flowing over the evap....and the heater control valve is not closing off allowing hot coolant into the heater core....so you are heating up the air at the same time you are trying to cool it.
