When I turn on the A/C or restart the car the A/C goes into the recirculate mode. Is there a way to keep it in the fresh air mode without have to reset it every time. Never had a car before with the recirculate as the default setting. I did look in the owners manual, but didn't find anything. Not saying it's not in there, but I didn't find it.

If system is Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), then control of Recirculate and Fresh likely is commanded by ATC. There is usually a manual mode which would allow fan and Fresh/Recirc to be set by operator.

Recirculate provides maximum cooling by cooling air primarily from inside cabin to lower temperature. Some fresh air is introduced even on recirculate.
