Default Grease from CV Joint

Hi forum members,
While under my '93 Accord with 210K miles doing regular maintenance I noticed grease coming from the CV joint where it connects to automatic transmission. It didn't look like the boot was split, but rather like it was oozing out under the boot clamp.
This is obviously not normal, but if the boot is not split, why would grease be oozing out?
Don't hear an abnormal sounds from the CV joint. No clicking or clunks.
Ideas?

W/ age the rubber shrinks and gets harder leading to leak paths. Only solution is a new CV axle or new boot (very messy DIY).

Search for CV axle will reveal that many have had problems w/ inexpensive auto parts CV axles, although not all. There are high quality options but they will cost ~ 2X.

good luck
