Question cabin air filter

Yesterday I checked my cabin air filter and I知 surprise that there are no filters in the box which I believe there should be two small filters. So I called up the local dealer here in UAE (I知 an Expat, working here for about 2 years now) the agent told me that only 2006 model and up are equipped with cabin filter.
Now my question is how dangerous of not having a set of cabin air filter in this dusty country?

Regards,

You will just breathe the dust instead of filtered air. It shouldnt hurt much of anything else.

Must be something on the non US models. US models (1999) do come with a cabin air filter?

Yes, 1999 Accord in the U.S. do have cabin air filters.

Redbull- Thanks. My post was more along another line, I'd already checked that the 99's had a filter. My W.A.G. was more along the lines of this- Knowing a MFG, they are going to want to save $'s anywhere they can....so did they install a filter for ones going to the US and just leave it out if it wasn't? The OP stated it looked like there was a place for one so????? I can look for spec's on Monday of the shape- if "darkgreen" can confirm the "looks" of a place to put one.

P.S.-Glad to have you hear. Your knowledge is vast and I know it will help many people...and it is a much easier place to get along.

poorman212, I actually already understood from your initial post you knew the 1999 US Accord had the cabin air filter, and that for the Accord overseas (e.g., United Arab Emirate (UAB)) may not have it installed.

I would guess the same filter will fit in his Accord, whether his is RH or LH drive.

Yeah, the "other" site sometimes gets frustrating; but, it's still okay with the amount of traffic there. Things just come and go; so, I just roll with it.

Can you not ask that they order one? Is it LHD or RHD, just for my own info. Sand on the evap can not be good, I'd worry about the heat core as well but based upon where you are if that went bad I'd just by-pass it.

Heck if nothing else I might even try to get some stocking material, I know that is bad but it has to slow down the sand.

EDIT: If you want I might be able to get detailed spec's on the filter and send them to you? Let me know, it might take a little time but I'd try.
