Default can bad battery cause SRS light to remain on??

Hi everybody. New guy. I have a 2000 Accord V6 and have been through the dealer battles as to why the SRS light stays on, several years ago. Finally learned of recall covering this and got reimbursed for the service $$.That was between 2003 and 2006.
Now, suddenly, the SRS light is back on. Honda dealer told me today that a "bad battery" - needs replacement - is the cause. Does this sound legit? All through 2003 - 2006 (see above) I never once heard the battery as the cause of the SRS light staying on. New Honda battery is "only" $138.

Thanks a lot.

Chances are the battery isn't the cause of your SRS light being on.
What would cause the SRS light of a 2000 Honda Accord to come on and how can it be reset

Although it may or may not be the cause, a bad battery can cause the SRS light to be on:

Default SRS light on

Thanks for the info, guys. I will check out the battery. By the way, the SRS light is out now. Does that mean the SRS system is operational or just that the SRS light is out? Thanks.

A frequent source of SRS light on is bad switch in the seat belt latch. A dose of WD40 and some excercsing (latch/unlatch,...) may permanently cure the problem.

The following thread may help to extract the code.

good luck

Very less chance of bad battery keeping lights on.. Even I used to think like this but my friend told this could not be possible.. May be some wire issue
