Can someone tell me what part this is and how difficult it is to replace?
Again, if you can and live where "salty roads" are an issue.....I would inspect the area and if there are any signs of issues....treat it with the "rust converters" and then I'd hit it with some body undercoating.
Another member on here posted some pretty good pictures of his old one when it was off the car, so it is a good reference as to where the "problem" area shows up.
