Default Can you just buy the cable for the power windows?

The cable for the power windows is totally destroyed on my 97 Accord. I'm talking about the one which physically moves the window up and down, not the electric cable.

I see I can get a new one for about $80 including shipping. However, I believe the motor and rest of the components are good. Is there anywhere to just purchase the cable? It has to be a lot cheaper than getting the whole shooting match.

nope sorry to say it all comes as the whole "kit and kaboodle"
But usually there is something broken that caused the cable to turn into the rats nest of tangled wire.

Thanks for the quick answer. I was afraid I couldn't get just the cable. I also didn't feel like being out in the cold trying to get one from a junk car. Oh well, ordered one from 1aauto today.

I looked at just trying to rerig the cable after the plastic sheave at top of regulator broke. The cable is apparently an endless cable that winds and pays out at same time. Pretty tricky to rig and I threw in the towel.

There are lower cost sources of regulators. Checky ebay for new replacement and used. W/ a quick search I found a used part for $25 + 10$ shipping. New replacement wasn't much higher.

good luck
