Can you remove transmission without removing the engine?
Yup, we still have it. I was hoping it would go away, and maybe, just maybe we'd see some real rate reduction of of rates. iI doubt that will happen any time soon. It's also why I own and drive older model cars (cheaper to insure). It doesn't hurt that I have no problem with fixing older cars, as they're a lot easier to work on than some of the newer stuff. Most of the time it's simple stuff, but on occasion, I do have to break out the hot wrench to get things to come apart due to rust.

One other benefit of older cars, at least from my perspective, is there are dedicated controls for the things you want to operate. My wife's Mazda3 is a good example of new-car-think; the Nav, Audio, Trip Computer, and a few other things are all on one screen, errr, I said that wrong, not only are they all on one screen, but they are one-thing-at-a-time on that screen. This forces you to fiddle with a **** and some buttons to change functions. It is so annoying when you are on a trip to have to switch from the Audio mode to the Nav mode, back and forth, ad nauseam, while driving; so annoying when we take her car on a trip, I actually bring along my portable Garmin GPS and suction cup it to the windscreen.
We've definitely reached the threshold of "thread-creep" or "thread-hijack".

Yes, I know we've pushed the limit on "thread hijack", and I was trying to steer it back on track.
Well, I'm bacckkkkk !
What is the part called that you can mount on the top part of the engine bay to hold the engine in place? I have tried engine brace, bracket, support etc... and it always goes to engine mounts.
It' s the 4 legged things that you remove the hood and put this on to hold the engine in place.
Still trying to find out the cost of all the tools (engine support and transmission jack, etc...) and how much time.
I figure 1 day to remove everything, Day 2 to put the new seal in and put transmission back on, then day 3 to put everything else back together.
This sound reasonable?

LOL...I must be tired! I was searching all over the internet for the engine support bar and I KNOW I saw it somewhere recently!
