Default Can't remove flow control valve cap

I'm rebuilding the power steering pump and I can't remove the cap for the flow control valve. I have it bolted in the car to try and get it off, but I'm afraid I'm getting close to rounding out the hex slot for the Allen wrench. It hasn't budged a hair. I can't afford a new one, so I'm pretty stuck. Please help ASAP!

Suggest heating w/ a propane torch. This frequently helps stuck bolts.

If unsuccessful suggest replacing the pump w/ used unit. Check car-part.com for salvage yards w/ part near your zip code.

good luck

Rounded it out. Any way to make the hole a square one, or is that pretty much impossible?

I think it is a 10mm hex that should go in there.

But now that it is rounded....decision point.
1. Is it really worth removing it?
2. A bone yard find might be an option
3 thru about 20 - Use a dremel and small cutting wheel and cut a slot and use a flathead.....is there enough of the "lip" on the outside to get a pair of vise grips on it.....

This is for a 7th gen but the PS pumps are pretty much the same.....some nice pic's and detail write up - https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...-accord-57704/

You should be able to get an easy-out remover into the rounded hole. Did you apply heat? If yes, I doubt an easy out will work any better.

good luck
