Car died while driving on the freeway
My Car Honda Accord 2013 Spot Trim died while driving on the freeway. Engine shut off. I had to tow my car home and about an hour tried to start and the vehicle started up. There was no warning on dash.
I took my car to nearby Honda Service . They ran diagnostics. Please see below for the summary of diagnostics.
CONDITION NOT CONFIRMED. HOWEVER, HDS SHOWS A TROUBLE CODE IN PGMF-I MEMORY. THIS CODE IS P065A ACG NO CHARGING MALFUNCTION. PULLED THE FREEZE FRAME AND CONFIRM THIS CODE WAS SET AT VEHICLE SPEED OF 45 MPH AND 0 RPM VEHICLE SPEED. ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHILE VEHICLE MOVING. CHECKED THE CHARGING SYSTEM. NO LOAD IS 14.4 V AND LOADS ON AT 2500 RPM IS AT 14.4 V. BUT IT DROPS WHEN RPM DROPS. BATTERY CELLS ARE DRIED AND NOT ACCEPTING CHARGE AS DESIGNED. IT IS NOT CLEAR THAT ALTERNATOR IS PUTTING OUT THE RIGHT VOLTAGE WITHOUT A KNOWN GOOD BATTERY.
As of now, i have replaced my battery. I am wondering what to do next.
Have any of you experience a similar issue. Can you suggest what is the approach you took to fix this issue?
Thanks
