Default car won't start

Yesterday I left my lights on in my car. That was in the morning. I went to leave for work around 4:30 pm and the car would not start. We tried to jump it, with no luck. The jumper cables that we had used were not coded right. So they were put on backwards. Once that happened the car made a wierd sound. So we gave up on that. We tried another set of jumper cables and tried to start the vehicle. No luck. Nothing came on. The only thing that works in the car are the horn and the emergency flashers. This morning I came to work and tried another battery in the car. No luck with that either. I called the dealership and the man told me that I might have fried the computer in the car. We hooked a voltometer and it's showing that the battery is good. Any suggestions on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated.

The first thing I'd check is to make sure that none of the wiring to/from the battery melted, next check all the fuses under the dash and the fuses under the hood, most likely you blew a main fuse under the hood somewhere

MOST LIKELY YOU BLEW A MAIN FUSE,, chk the main fuses first as adviced by NASTY ,,underhood fuse box

I don't think you blew the computer if that brings you any consolation. Yeah, like everyone is saying, check that big see through 80 (i think) amp fuse.
