Cars driving me crazy!!
Maybe you guys can help, I have a 1989 accord LXi (I believe, the fuel injected one), and its been sitting in my backyard over the winter, I went to start it and the battery was toast, so I bought a new one, now when I put the new battery in it still wont start, I turn the key but nothing happens, dos'nt try to start over or anything.... Its probably something little or stuiped I messed up but any thoughts or opinions is really appreciated, thx.
Your starter isn't getting power or isn't working properly.
If you have a volt meter see if the small wire going to the starter has 12V when you turn the key to the start position. Touch + volt meter lead to the wire and - meter lead to a bolt on the valve cover. You will need an assistant to do this. If you don't have 12V, then follow 91's suggestion.
If it does, then hit the starter moderately with the handle of a screw driver. If the car starts, then the solenoids are likely worn out in the starter.
