Default Catalytic Converter or ?????

I'm getting a code (P0420) on my Accord ('01 EX Coupe 4cyl. V-tech "non-SULEV" auto 175k miles) and after looking for exhaust leaks etc. I have found nothing wrong externally. The car is throwing no other codes but does seem to be idling a little rough. Everything I've read points to the Cat but I'm reluctant to buy a new one until I know a little more. First, are the any other things to inspect. I checked the exhaust for leaks, pulled the plugs, checked wires, all vacuum lines look good. Second, if I buy a new Cat would it be better to go OE or one of the aftermarket brands, I can get a MagnaFlow locally. Cost for the OE would be about $500 and aftermarket $190-$390 range.

A new cat turned of my PO420.

Using the CCABIN code from a newer post, Advance has a Walker for $142. Not for CA, though. Your location's not in your sig.
