Default Cel 6 - water temp sensor

I have a 1992 accord with 218k

After driving for a few minutes the check engine comes on and the d4 light starts to blink. I pulled the codes - Code 6 water temp senor and for the d4 code 10 coolant temp senor. So, I replaced the senor, the two wire one located under the distributor. I pulled the codes and didn't get any. Went for a test drive, after a few minute the same thing happens - check engine on, d4 blinking, which sends the car into limp mode. Pulled the codes again six quick flashes - water temp senor. So, my question is what are my next steps to correct the probem. What else would cause a cel 6 to be read. Any advice on troubleshooting or input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Anything in the wiring from that sensor back to the ECU. Loose/dirty/corroded plugs in the wiring harness? Wire rubbed through the insulation to exposed the wire?
