CEL code 6 and D4
No CEL all week as I waited for my on-line order for a thermo-sensor and a couple other items. Received the order yesterday and got right into this morning. Removed distributor assembly which made it a cinch to get the old switch out. Removed the old switch, put my finger over the opening to minimize coolant loss, grab the new switch and realize the new switch is larger than the old one and will not fit.
Checked the part I ordered (37773-PT0-004). I received the correct part. It's marked TEC 93 on the brass hex.
The old switch has a couple makings on it '21215' on the brass hex and 'KC1W' on the plastic connector. Any idea what the correct part number is for this temp sensor???

You ordered the wrong part. That is thermo switch A on the thermostat housing.
Here is the part you want:
37870-PK2-015 SENSOR ASSY., WATER TEMPERATURE (HADSYS)
It is under engine, engine sub chord-clamp. Part #24
It is a strange location for that sensor.

Just a follow-up... replaced the thermo-sensor, got everything back together. Set timing, bleed air out of cooling system and topped of the radiator fluid. No flashing check engine or D4 during the over last couple of days. Hope that resolves the CEL code 6. If not... I'll be back.
Thank you for the help and guidance!!!
