Default Changing Radiator

I am replacing my radiator today in my 97 LX 2.2 5spd. I am under the impression that you can remove the radiator with the fans attached then swap them after it out. Is this correct? I am doing this in a few hours when it gets light.

Thanks. I had read the DIY but it stated the need to remove the fans & I have other info that says you can do it without. See, I have no access to lift the car to get the splashsheild off so I have to do it all from the top. I am going to install the lower rad hose before I lower it into place then I just have to tighten it after it is mounted.

the reason that i like to remove the fans first , it makes it easier to pull the radiator out,, gives it more clearance especially on the 90-93 model .. 94-97 it is easier to remove it with fans ..

but you can remove the fans afterward ,, no problem , especially if you cannot raise the car in the air ,,,,,,,also if AT, remove the lines at the tranny

Thankfully, mines a 5 speed so I don't have to screw with those. Thanks for quick help.

I have a 92 Accord LX and I replaced the Radiator in mine a couple of months ago, I removed mine with the fans attached and swapped while it was out. It wasn't too bad, took me about an hour and 45 mins to do it all.

Well, I got it done in just under 2 hours. I did leave the fans on but I think if there is a next time I may try it by removing the fans first.
