Default Check engine light.

Hey again, I guess my car has a few things that have to be sorted out still. I just got my car, it's 1990 Accord Ex with 235k, and running like a champ - almost.

I changed my 02 sensor to pass smog a couple weeks ago and the car ran great, up until about a week ago. I receive a check engine light in the car every time I drive more than 3 miles and it seems to be like it's losing power.

Around 2k rpms, just with brisk acceleration, I'll feel a loss in power and the car will sound like it's pinging almost, so if you add a bit of gas, the pinging gets worse. The only way out of it really is to either drop revs, and resume where you were and it'll be fine for a little while, or just mash the pedal so it downshifts, and runs right again. This only happens around 2-3k rpms, and on the freeway every now and then.

Any idea what it could be or what to check? Is there a way to pull codes?

Thanks again, Jay.

Turn the key on and count the blinks of the led on the ecu. Just peal the passenger carpet down a little to see it.

the 90 accord also has a jumper wire at the top of the passenger side kick plate. if you link the jumper
the codes will flash on your check engine light.
