Well it appears as one of two things:
either the wiring to the oxygen sensor is bad
or the cat is bad

thats my take on the situation

My check engine light came on at 4200 miles. Has anyone else had a problem with their car? The dealer told me it was a common problem & he replaced a "switch." That's all the information I got.

For both of the posters, post your error code on here (P####). The codes are stored when the engine computer detects a specific problem, so the problem can be efficiently diagnosed. Without the code, it is hard to give advice.
