Default Christine Accord (Electrical Issues)

I have a 2006 Honda Accord, 4 cyl. When the car is off and just sitting there, the radio will come on and off all on it's own. Also the light in the radio works only once in a while. I'm not certain what could possibly make this happen like that, but It scared the hell out of me when I go to get in my car at 5am and the radio blasts on for a moment. Today, it must have been doing it all night because my battery was really weak, and needed a jump to get it started. When I tried to start it all my dash lights were flashing on and off, it was pretty creepy.

Little help please????

Pull fuse 32 in under-dash fuse box (driver's kick panel). This should disable radio and prevent radio from coming on w/ keyswitch OFF. If this test confirms power was being supplied w/ keyswitch OFF, then replace keyswitch electrical assy.

Defective keyswitch assy is common honda problem.

good luck

Well, I kept the radio off all day and since I had to jump the car this morning, I haven't had any issues all day with it starting up. I didn't have to pull the fuse, as the radio will only come on when I leave it on before I shut the car off. It started with the light in my radio not working about a year or so ago, and it has progressively gotten worse with the radio. Some times when I am driving, and the radio is on, Ill hear a loud audio "pop" and the radio will quit working all together. If I shut it off and turn it back on it will work again. Could my audio system be shot???

From your description it would appear to be an internal radio fault.

Replacement w/ a used unit is low cost solution. Check car-part.com and ebay for replacements.

good luck
