Default Classic Accord trans problem D4 light please help ASAP

I have a 93 accord lx automatic F22A1 i just bought for 700.The price says it all, it needs some work. There is one problem I'm having trouble solving. My D4 light starts blinking very quick when i reach about 40mph and up and continues to blink even after decelerating. When I turn off the vehicle and let it sit for about 20 minutes it doesn't blink until I hit 40mph and up. I did the ecm paper clip thing the only code it throws is for the IAT sensor. I don't have any of the other problems people have posted on this site like my trans doesn't slip out of gear and I have no trouble shifting from park to drive. No erratic idle or rpm spikes while driving, my speedo works fine. When I decelerate my speedo and rpm tac do jump down and back up to the speed. I think it has to do with the shift solenoids. If someone can help me out and point me in the right direction i'd appreciate thank you.

if it was your shift or tq. solenoids it wouldn’t shift right or at all. What is the code your popping sure you read the code right?.. are you reading the "d4" blinks or the CEL blinks cus the codes are diff. from the 2. here is a list of codes try it again and tell me what your code is

check your connections and you wires to your solenoids. You can also pop them off and do a check to see if they click. Connect them to your bat. and if they don't click then they are bad. IF they are bad I have a set I can sell you that are good…let me know and I PM you with a price if you want them.

You either have a TCU code 1 or 10. Those codes are different than the check engine light codes.

A TCU code 10 is for the engine coolant temperature sensor. I would think that the check engine light would also flash a code for this as well. Did your check engine light flash a code, or was it lit up solid?

A code 1 is for the lockup control solenoid valve A.

My check engine light just lit solid. D4 is the only light that blinked once.

Just looked at the shop manual in more detail, you got a code 1.

You can test the resistance between the lockup solenoid valve connector to ground. The electrical connector has two pins, because there are two solenoids in there. Each pin to ground should 14-16 ohms. If one is way out of spec, then you should replace. The lockup solenoid valve is on top of the transmission.

Red circle on attached pic shows the location of the solenoid.

Yup its the solenoid. I'm gonna replace them this weekend. Just curious what would've happened if I would've driven the car as is with the faulty solenoid? I knew someone who owned a cadillac with a the same problem but the solenoids on the cadillacs are internal inside the transmission and his car drove fine.
