It's been a long time since my dad has a complete maintenance and cleaning of that car. We have a Honda City 2002. Me and my friends look at it because my dad gave it already to me. When was the right time to clean or replace the Honda EGR valve? It's a bit rusty, can I just clean it up or need some new parts already?

 

Not familiar w/ Honda City, however EGR valves usually have a little rust on the valve cast iron body. Unless you havethe Check Engine Light On and an EGR fault code, I would leave the EGR valve alone. Your valve can be damaged w/ incorrect cleaning procedure and a new EGR valve is expensive. External cleaning has no impact on function in any case.
