Does any body know what is a code 1290. I have a 1999 honda civic ex had the head re-done, the car runs smooth but the check eng is on.

Don't have a manual for the Civic, a 1290 code? Can't find anything on that one. Who or where are you getting this code from? Is this from a shop or do you have your own reader.

I think P1290 on a newer Civic is for the throttle-position motor. But I don't think the Civic had a motorized throttle yet in 1999...?

Thanks for all the help, I found the code is the vtech is malfunctioning and fixed it, it was the oil pressure sensor the connector broke off.
