Default Computer Reader

Where can I purchase a decent computer reader? I am a Do It Yourself type of guy. I do not like going to dealers if I don't have too.

You can buy them at most auto parts stores or even WalMart. Most auto parts stores will read your codes for free though.

assuming you want an ODBII code reader-

Once you purchase the box, you need a laptop and their free software. It will allow you to read and reset codes and has a few other funtions.

I've seen some nice OTC units sell on Ebay for around $50.
