Default Confirm Seat Folding 2003 Accord

Good day,

Does the 7th generation Accord form a bed by sliding the front seats all the way forward, removing headrests, and reclining to form a flat with the rear seat?" I'm considering purchasing a 2003, and cannot see it in person first.

I had a 6th gen (1999) Accord LX Sedan and 1990 Mazda 626 with this feature. It is also found in the Honda Element, late 90s CRV, late 90s Rav4, among others.

Accord flat seat:

626 flat seat:

Thanks

A bed as in a relatively flat surface to lay cargo, or a bed long and flat enough to sleep in? Yes to the former, no to the latter.

Would have got to this one sooner, but I was sleeping in my Accord...

Thanks for the quick responses.

Shipo, does your seat fold like the photos of my old cars? If so, what year is yours?

Dr. Driveability, same question: does your seat do this, and what year is it?

I cannot see any of your pictures, but when I compare Gen 6 and Gen 7 Accords, the floor looks virtually identical (i.e. a flat trunk floor, and then a ridge where the rear seats pivot forward, and then an incline up to the backs of the front seats).

Long story short, imagine what your 1999 looked like with the seats folded forward, and that is pretty much identical to what you'll see in a 2003 model.

I can understand your confusion without the working photos (I can't see them on an iPhone either.) I also posted to DriveAccord.net, and the photos seemed to work there:

Drive Accord Honda Forums - View Single Post - Is it possible to sleep in a 2004 Honda Accord LX?

The seat fold has nothing to do with folding the rear set. The front seat reclines all the way down, and becomes flat with the rear.

You may want to stop by a used car lot with an 03-07 accord and check how the seat folds down. Power reclining seats may not fold down as far. You can ask the current owner of the car you are considering buying to do this for you.

I highly recommend finding an independent shop to do a used car inspection. A shop that specializes in honda/foreign cars is ideal. This can help identify potential problems/repairs in the future and well worth the money.

PAHonda: I appreciate the suggestion, but I live in a rural area 800 km from any dealers likely to have Accords. There's one at auction I may bid on, sight unseen. I'm asking about features online to save myself time off work.

The one I'm considering is an EX-L, so I would assume it has power seats. Do you know for sure if the power seats do not work?

I don't know if the power seats fold all the way down, or if they don't behave like the 99 sedan.

The 2003 EX-L only has a drivers power seat, and no it does not recline all the way back.
