Default folding seat lock

i got my 07 accord sedan used , the ignition key won't open the lock for the rear folding seat. Is there a trick i am missing ? Is there a way to disable this lock so the seat will fold up and down without it ?

How many keys did you get when you bought the car, does it work everything else on the car? From inside the trunk there is a handle you can pull to get it open.

Do you have an owners manual? If not try this link to download one......

I have a 07 Accord also. When I try to fold mine down using the key from inside of the car, I have to lean into the seat putting pressure into the seat while turning the key at the same time. That's the way it has always been for me.

Once the key turns then hold it in that spot while pulling the back seat toward you.

Hope this helps you

This happened to me also. I was told by my locksmith that typically there are two different keys for this car, one is a valet key, the other one is the main key. The valet key will not unlock some things on the car. I think I only received a valet key. It had a gray head on it. My key will not unlock my glove box or the rear trunk lock on the driver's side floor or the rear seat lock. I was able to crawl into the trunk and disable the rear seat lock. There are two little flexible gray bars that connect into the lock mechanism. By carefully prying I think I was able to remove them without actually damaging the mechanism. Once those little gray bars are loose, then I was able to lower the rear seat backs. My rear seats backs were split. I could lower the driver side by pulling on a strap from the trunk. I can lower the passenger side by pulling on the little gray bar I had freed up from the lock.
